THE MILL'S ANNEX

Located in the heart of the Compiègne forest, the cottage “L'Annexe du Moulin” is an ambitious renovation project led by the Fron-Martin Studio team.A gatekeeper house at the time and long abandoned since then, this historic building has been transformed into a bed and breakfast complex composed of two complementary houses on exceptional green land..

The objective of the project was to take advantage of the natural context to create a modernized hunting lodge. After a phase of cleaning, reconstruction and renovation, the two buildings now house warm and friendly common areas as well as five bedrooms. Landscaping harmoniously connects these spaces, providing a feeling of isolation and a return to nature, away from the hassles of daily life.

The decoration of the cottage is intrinsically linked to its environment. Each room is inspired by an element of the local fauna or flora, using natural colors to create a calming atmosphere. The handcrafted furniture, with classic features revisited, adds a touch of charm and authenticity, recalling the family homes of yesteryear, like a Madeleine by Proust.

The common areas invite conviviality and relaxation, underlined by the choice of materials, textures and colors. The decorative elements, carefully selected, tell the story of the place and its environment, offering visitors an immersive and rejuvenating experience.
